Magdalena Myrczik is a Polish marimbist and percussionist based in Spain. She performs a wide range of repertoire, with a primary focus on contemporary music, collaborating with composers from Poland and Spain—the countries to which she is most connected. Her main artistic interests include ethnic influences and extramusical meaning, which allow her to convey important values such as ecology, tolerance, and feminism.
Magdalena has extensive stage experience, performing both as a soloist and with chamber ensembles across Europe, Asia, and North America. She has performed at festivals such as the China-Europe Festival (Poland), FestMus (Spain), and MATE (Portugal). Additionally, she has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Poland and Spain. She has been a member of several ensembles, including Sound Factory Orchestra, Classic Marimba Trio, and the Polish National Youth Orchestra, with whom she has participated in various recordings.
Currently, her main artistic activity revolves around her two duos: Sauti Duo (with percussionist David Almagro) and FlowStick Ensemble (with flutist Kalina Majewska).
Magdalena is a winner of multiple prizes, including the Marimba Festiva International Competition, Febrero Musical, Re_Cre@, American Protégé Concerto Competition, and Vienna International Music Competition. She has been widely praised for her musicality and artistic expression.
She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Academy of Music in Wrocław, later completing a second Master’s degree at the Conservatorio de Alicante, receiving honors in both programs. She has also participated in numerous masterclasses worldwide, receiving lessons from renowned soloists such as Katarzyna Mycka, Svet Stoyanov, and Beverley Johnston.
Beyond performing, Magdalena is an active educator, frequently invited to give masterclasses at conservatories and universities. She is also a teacher and co-organizer of the Perke Xick Festival.
